WOBURN, MA — The Woburn City Council will meet on June. 7 at 7 p.m. and the agenda is filled with a variety of topics that affect the city.

Here are some important issues that will be discussed at the meeting:

Solar energy systems for the technology and business district. This ordinance will alter the city's 1985 zoning ordinance to allow for offsite solar systems in the district. This would allow business in the area to install roof- mounted, solar carports, off-grid and passive solar energy systems, and solar thermal systems.

An ordinance to approve a life science laboratory with research, development uses and office space at 400 Presidential Way in Woburn. Some expected site work will include the construction of a loading bay and associated access drive at the rear of the building, modifications to the indoor space and parking lot that will improve truck circulation and modestly increase the size of some of the landscaped areas.

A petition to authorize the construction of a new four-story building and parking garage at 216 New Boston Street; the building will host an office space and research and testing space. The building will have more than 15,000 square feet of office space and more than 25,000 square feet for the research and testing laboratory space.
